When the Technology Works, Life Changes

Names changed for privacy. Results are real.

"Data tells you what happened. Stories tell you what it meant. Every statistic here was once a child who could not tell their mother they were in pain โ€” and then could."

Ciaran, Age 7 โ€” ASD, Non-Verbal

Ciaran's school had never successfully navigated the AT Grant before. Within three weeks of contacting TapTalk AAC, Form 3 was submitted. Within eight weeks, the grant was approved. Within four months, Ciaran produced his first spontaneous three-word combination โ€” unprompted, at the dinner table.

Outcome: First 3-word spontaneous combinations in 4 months. Zero family cost. Grant approved: โ‚ฌ2,800.

Aoife, Age 11 โ€” Cerebral Palsy, Dysarthria

Aoife's speech had become unintelligible to all but her immediate family. Two previous AAC apps had failed because neither was configured for switch access โ€” her only reliable physical interface. TapTalk AAC was configured for single-switch scanning within her first session. Classroom participation increased by an estimated 300% within a term.

Outcome: Switch-access AAC configured in first session. Classroom participation tripled within one term.

Multi-Pupil Enterprise โ€” 12 Students

A Dublin special school requested a whole-school AAC implementation across 12 pupils with complex communication needs. TapTalk AAC Clinical Enterprise: 12 individually configured profiles, full staff training for 30 staff, FHIR data exports integrated with the school's SNA report system, and a branded parent portal.

Outcome: 12 AT Grant applications approved. Total school cost: โ‚ฌ0. Total grant value secured: โ‚ฌ33,600.
